Paul is a specialist plastic and reconstructive surgeon who has worked exclusively in hand and wrist surgery since 2015. His practice includes Dupuytren's disease, joint replacement, base-of-thumb reconstruction and complex revision surgery, with arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques where they suit.

He took his medical degree and PhD at Utrecht University in the Netherlands and trained there as a plastic surgery registrar, before advanced fellowship training in Adelaide between 2013 and 2015 in reconstructive microsurgery, burns, and hand and wrist surgery.
