Kyra is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon specialising in hand and wrist surgery, with a particular interest in complex injury, peripheral nerve and brachial plexus problems, and nerve and microsurgery in both adults and children.

She holds an MD from Flinders University, a Master of Surgery from the University of Sydney and a PhD from Flinders, and came to hand surgery through a research background. She completed a hand surgery fellowship at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland and a reconstructive microsurgery fellowship in Winnipeg with Dr Edward Buchel.
